Manny Pacquiao officially announces retirement

Pacquiao Shocks Boxing Community By Retiring After Brutal Marquez KO Loss:

"I have Jinkee and the Filipino people to think about now," said Manny Pacquiao in an official statement released on Monday morning from General Santos City in the Philippines. And just like that, after titles in eight divisions, spectacular wins and accomplishments, and status as perhaps the best fighter of his generation, Manny Pacquiao has retired.

Pacquiao's retirement seems sudden because over the past few months, it had appeared that he decided to continue campaigning. Originally he was planning to fight in April, but that was going to be pushed back until September, to allow himself more time to recover following his knockout defeat against rival Juan Manuel Marquez this past December.

However, apparently the pressure to step away from the squared circle before it was too late became even stronger than we had previously heard.

We already knew his mother and his wife, Jinkee, were clamoring for him to retire. We heard the backroom doctor speculations and concerns about Parkinson's being a risk factor. We knew long-time trainer, friend and mentor Freddie Roach was going to give it to Pacquiao straight, and

YouTube will Shutdown

YouTube has announced it will no longer accept new videos from tonight as it goes into a decade-long hiatus to review all the uploads of the past eight years.

In a surprise move made just hours before April 1, which just happens to be April Fools’ Day, YouTube said the site’s sole purpose had been a contest to determine the best video on the internet.

Somewhat serendipitously, that competition has now come to an end, and a panel of judges is now going to spend the next ten years deciding upon an overall winner.

Tim Liston, YouTube director of communications, said: ‘We are so close to the end. Tonight at midnight, YouTube.com will no longer be accepting entries.

‘After eight amazing years, it’s finally time to review everything that has been uploaded to our site and begin the process of selecting a winner.’

Antoine Dodson, he of ‘hide your kids’ fame, is among those on the viral video star-studded judging panel.

‘We are all story-tellers, that’s what pulled me into this contest,’ he said. ‘Like stories of how to Photoshop and stories about the Hobbit trailer HD. I encourage everyone to watch as many videos as possible before YouTube deletes everything tonight.’

YouTube, which said the site would relaunch in April 2023 just featuring the winner of its contest, has previous on April Fools’ Day.

In the past it has announced that every video ever uploaded on to the site would be made available on DVD, while another year every video linked to a Rick Roll.

What is  Speed dating ?

Speed dating is an organized form of matchmaking that focuses on meeting a lot of people in a short period of time. Most speed dating events include short (three to nine minute) 'dates' where one speed dating participant will meet with another for a face-to-face conversation about whatever they choose. A signal is given to all speed dating participants, and each person makes a note as to whether or not they'd like to meet their 'date' again before moving on to another person. Usually a day or two after a speed dating event, participants receive word as to who else wanted to also meet them and a method of contacting each other.

Most speed dating events require preregistration with a credit card to ensure an equal number of people, or in the case of heterosexual speed dating events, an equal number of men and women. Different speed dating companies offer a different ratio of eligible singles depending on their focus; some strictly enforce matching numbers while others are more relaxed and prefer a party setting to formalized 'dates' in a certain time frame.

It is unusual to see a speed dating event with an open age range, and most speed dating events will require an applicant to fall within the age range stated in order to attend. However, some niche speed dating events throw age out the window to cater to specific groups, such as lesbians and gays, religious or racial affiliations, or those with similar hobbies.
